Meet One Of The Faces Behind Collins, Associates & You - The Tax Trio
I’m Elaine Collins, the proud owner of Collins, Associates & You -The Tax Trio
I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.
I have always been passionate about number crunching, so once my children were all in school, I started working for a large commercial tax preparation service company in 1998. Once I learned the ropes, I began to take classes to study for the Enrolled Agent exam. Subsequently, in 2002, I managed to pass the grueling test, which enhanced my job prospects. I was now able to teach classes, train new preparers, manage staff, and of course, prepare more advanced tax returns for individuals and businesses. However, after some time, I reached a point where although I enjoyed meeting and greeting clients, I didn’t feel the company appreciated all my hard work. I decided to explore my options and consider new ideas that could provide a more prosperous future.
Therefore, after talking to my friend Angela, who also had a strong financial skill set, we decided to launch an accounting firm in 2009. However, starting the company eleven years ago required me to leave many clients behind that I had come to know as friends. But despite the challenges of starting from scratch, I haven’t regretted it for one minute. Well……. maybe for a minute or two. Thankfully, all the long hours have paid off, and we’ve expanded into a full-service tax office. So, along with bookkeeping, payroll, and individual tax prep, we now offer business tax prep for all entities, as well as trusts and estates.
I believe what sets me apart is that I use my knowledge of the tax code to find the lowest legal tax liability while maintaining my integrity. This allows me and my clients to sleep at night. I make every effort to pay meticulous attention to detail while rendering business consultation and financial analytical reports. I also attribute my success to client loyalty, which has been created from a combination of excellent customer service and my genuine concern for them. I treat clients as partners and work closely with them, which produces fun and favorable outcomes. As a result, every time I witness a satisfied client smile or I receive a sincere thank you for a job well done, even if taxes are due, it fills me with immense satisfaction and motivates me to continue to fight the good fight.
When I’m not preparing the many tax returns, running a business or representing clients in IRS audits, I love spending quality time with my husband, six children, three daughters-in-law, and my twelve darling grandchildren. If I find a few days free, I enjoy quilting which involves designing, creating, and then sewing the many pieces together to make something that hopefully will endure through time. However, when only a few hours can be spared, I love to read or watch a wonderful wholesome romance.
I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
If you or someone you know could benefit from my expertise as a tax specialist or business consultant, I invite you to get in touch.
Sincerely,
Elaine
